Kickstart
4U Boys & Girls
Available for players who are born in 2021. This program meets for 1 hour for 6 Friday evenings from 5:00 - 6:00 PM. Children will enjoy a mix of fun soccer activities as well as participating in short 3v3 or 4v4 scrimmages between group members at the end of the Friday sessions.
There are no Saturday games for this introductory program. This program is ideal for the beginning or timid young player who will benefit from the measured pace and absence of "game day pressure." We offer a full curriculum for KickStart sessions which also makes it a great for parents who volunteer to coach but may not have ever played soccer themselves.
COED
5U-15U
The Coed program is for ages 5U (players born in 2020) through 15U (players born in 2010)
The Coed Soccer Program is designed for the recreational player and offers divisions in the following age groups: U5, U6, U8, U10, U12, 14U and U16.
All Coed teams will train once a week with games on Saturdays and some Sundays. Training sessions are either 500-600pm or 600-700pm. Games can fall anywhere between 9:00am to 6:00pm on Saturdays and 1:00pm to 6:00pm on Sundays.
Training sessions are led by parent volunteers assigned to the teams from the pool of registered players. Training sessions will be held at various locations in South Durham.
For Fall 2024, games for the 5U - 10U take place at the TU Complex (5510 Barbee Chapel Road, Chapel Hill, 27515). Games for the 12U, 14U, and 15U take place at Southern Community Park (the older age groups play in the Rainbow League along with Chatham 12U-15U teams).
Costs include player uniforms (jersey); uniforms are given out once per seasonal year (i.e. fall 2024 and spring 2025). If you register in the fall and register for the spring in the same seasonal year, you will use same uniform. If you are new to spring, you will receive a uniform.
You will receive an email confirmation from PlayMetrics
Team placements will be announced through email notification within 48 hours of the registration window closing
You must email the Program Director within 48 hours of the team placements being announced
Team names are followed by a letter and number. These correlate to the practice day (M=Monday, T=Tuesday, W=Wednesday, R=Thursday) and practice time (5=5-6pm, 615=6:15-7:15pm). Field assignments will be noted in the schedule tab on PlayMetrics. A field map of the soccer field will also be hyperlinked.
If a coach has been assigned to you by the end of the registration window, the coach will be listed in the roster tab on PlayMetrics when the team placement are made visible. If there has been no volunteer for your team at the time of the team placement announcement, there will be an additional email sent to your team, requesting a volunteer coach to step up to coach.
The game schedules will be posted at least 1 week prior to the date of the first game. Games are subject to change up until 24 hours before the kick-off of the game. Schedules will be available to view on the schedule tab in PlayMetrics.
There are three ways to find out about field closures: 1) Check the Triangle United website for weather updates, 2) Register your phone to receive text alerts about field closures by clicking here, select “W” for Woodcroft fields, and 3) Turn on notifications for the PlayMetrics app and you will receive an alert if your field is closed.
Rained out practices can be made up, typically on a Friday or a different day during the weekend.
We reserve one weekend towards the end of the regular season as a rain make-up day for any regular season games. This does not guarantee any or all of your rained out games will be made-up.
Triangle United offers an end of season Rec Tournament each season (Fall/Spring). 5U/6U teams are not eligible for the event. 8U-16U teams are invited but not required to participate in either event. Attending the events cost additional money.
Our 11/12U through 15/16U Coed teams play their regular season games in the Rainbow Soccer League to insure they have numerous opponents to play against. Teams will practice at Woodcroft during the week. Their games will be played in Chapel Hill. Game schedules and locations will still be visible on PlayMetrics under the schedule tab.
If you lose your jersey or need a bigger size, you would email our Woodcroft Director (there is a fee for a new jersey). There is 1 jersey for each year the child receives (if you play 2 seasons, fall and spring, the same jersey would be used)
