Triangle United Joins DPL Fall 2021
The DPL is the highest level of soccer Triangle United offers for our 13U-19U girls. Players train 4x a week for this program, with 1 day of training being Sports Performance training.
The club joined the Development Player League (DPL) in the fall of 2021.

DPL's Vision
We believe through superior experiences, players will be able to showcase their talent, discover collegiate opportunities and create community around the game. We are a standards driven national league connected to the Girls Academy that will encourage clubs to compete and grow, maximizing the development of their players. By creating a cohesive framework in line with the most dynamic organizations in the country, where nothing is given and everything earned, we will raise the bar in youth soccer… together.
Triangle United and our DPL girls program are excited about our partnership with Duke University and their Sports Sciences Institute. Players in the DPL girls Program have access to some of the best Specialists in the World. The FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence at Duke Sports Medicine will be conducting Sports Performance Assessments for DPL girls teams.
The testing will include assessments of: Flexibility, Strength, Power, Speed, & Agility
Yes, for 2023-2024, the Development Player League (DPL) is the highest level of soccer within Triangle United. Top clubs from around the Country participate in this league.
During the DPL season, which is mainly from August - early December, the teams train up to 4x a week, with 1 practice typically a performance (speed/agility/recovery) type of session.
All of our DPL teams will play in a DPL Showcase event (January for 15U-19U and March for 13U-14U). Our 15-19 teams can also qualify for "The Summit", which takes place in March in Floriday. Those teams that qualify for the playoffs will participate in that during the end of June. Teams also travel to highly competitive tournaments such as WAGS, Jefferson Cup, and the Blue-Chip Showcase.
Yes, there are college coaches present not only at regular season games, but also during the DPL events. In January 2023, the DPL Florida Event had over 115 college coaches in attendance for the event.
Yes, the club offers GK training for our DPL GK's. For 2023-2024, our goal will be 2x/week GK training for our DPL GKs. There will be technical training and training in the team environment.
The season for DPL is from last August - May. The 15-19 girls play mainly from August - December while the 13-14 Girls will play games from August - April.
