YDA Supplemental Evaluations

NEW players who wish join the YDA program for the Winter and Spring seasons

Triangle United YDA will be hosting supplemental tryouts for any NEW players who wish to be evaluated for the program. In order to participate in the evaluations you must REGISTER your player below. 

Evaluations are open to boys and girls born during 2010-2012. Players must bring a size 4 soccer ball and water to the evaluation.

YDA (Youth Development Academy)

Program Objective: To provide an environment for players 7-10 years old (born between 1/1/2010 – 12/31/2013) who have demonstrated the ability and desire to compete at a higher level of soccer.   The Youth Development Academy (YDA) will focus on the development of individual technical skills and enhance the understanding of small group tactics.  The environment that is created will also foster player growth in areas of balance, coordination, teamwork and sportsmanship. 
 

Program Structure:  Each YDA team will have a dedicated staff coach who will work with the program’s technical director. In season, one practice each week will focus on technical skills and the second practice will be team based.
 

Training will be held at designated sites in either Chapel Hill or Durham and will occur on either

Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday.  Sessions will be 75 minutes and start at either 5:00.     

  • Girls       5:00-6:15pm      Tuesdays/Thursdays
  • Boys       5:00-6:15pm      Mondays/Wednesdays

 

Games will occur on Sundays and home games will be held at either the Rainbow fields or the Soccer.com complex in Orange County.  Teams will compete within the Triangle Premier League against other Triangle-area clubs.   Play days will be arranged with other clubs on a home/away agreement and each season teams will enter at least one regionally based tournament. 
 

Club Fees:   

  • 8U club fees are $740 ($390 registration, $175 August 1, and $175 December 1) 
  • 9U-10U club fees are $890 ($390 registration, $250 August 1, and $250 December 1)

Benefits:    In addition to providing a premier teaching environment, players will also receive at no additional cost:

  • Summer kick-off camp Monday, June 17-Thursday, June 20, 9-11am @ Triangle Church Fields
  • Optional summer evening free play/technical sessions will be at the Homestead Park Fields from 530-630pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Winter sessions TBD
  • Optional YDA technical sessions 
  • $95 credit towards a 2019 TUSA summer camp (expires 8/2/19)
  • Pre-Season technical/training camp Monday, Aug 5-Wednesday, Aug 7, 9-11am, 
  • Team practices begin the week of August 12
  • Optional in-season Friday technical training sessions
  • Winter indoor futsal program
  • Winter skills sessions
  • Participation in Fall and Spring festival events
  • UNC/Duke soccer events  
  • Individual Player Evaluation following Fall & Spring seasons
  • 2 training shirts
  • Personalized sweatshirt for training (9U-10U).

YDA ELITE

Elite Teams:  The YDA Elite segment will continue this season and consist of the more advanced 10U teams.  These teams will play at the 11U level and their training schedule will mirror that of an 11U Classic team.  Fees for this segment will be slightly higher; see Club Fees below.

  • YDA Elite Teams       6:15-7:30pm       3 times/week
  • 10U Elite club fees are $1,195 ($445 registration, $250 August 1, $250 December 1, $250 February 1)
