The staff of Triangle United is committed to helping the community in many ways. We will again be involved in the Community in 2010-2011. Please check back for the upcoming Community events.
2009-2010 was no different when it came to helping out in our Community. From Special Olympics to in-school programs to helping organize charity events, we once again showed our support to the community in which we live. Here are a few of the events our club took part in
- Ran a soccer clinic w/Special Olympics of NC, hosting over 100 Special Olympians
- After School Program at Club Boulevard Elementary
- After School Program at Y.E. Smith Elementary
- After School Program at Holt Elementary
- Organizing volunteers for for the Southern Village 5k Fun Run
- Working with UNC-CH Women’s Soccer with "Carolina for Kibera"
In 2008-2009 we will be increasing the number of in-school and after school programs we are involved with. Additionally Triangle United has partnered with the Special Olympics of NC, and we have also pursued other opportunities to support local fitness and charitable events with volunteers. The additional activities include:
During 2007-2008, some of the community activities we participated with included the following:
- After School Program at Hargreaves Community Center
- After School Program at Forest View Elementary School
- Organized volunteers for the Children’s Fund of NC Run for the Kids
- Assisted with the Chapel Hill Service League Christmas House
We feel these volunteer opportunities are excellent chances to develop a greater appreciation for community service for Triangle United players, and look forward to providing increasing numbers of volunteer activities throughout the year.
