Durham Inner-City Soccer Program

For the 6th year in a row, Triangle United will once again be involved in the DBYAL inner-city youth soccer program in Durham. DBYAL "provides recreational opportunities to Durham's inner city youth, many of which were Latino and African American.

Project Heel Soccer Clinic to Benefit UNC Cancer Center
October 18th

Calling all soccer players, 8th grade or younger, come work on your skills with the UNC Women’s Soccer Team!  
All proceeds will benefit the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive  Cancer Center, toward the fight against cancer! Every registered participant will receive a Project Heel t-shirt.

u13 ('02) Boys Gold Capture Pre-Season Championship

The u13 ('02) Boys Gold team traveled to Williamsburg, VA for a pre-season event over the August 15-16 weekend and came home with the Top Flight Championship.  Congratulations to coach Mike Moltzon and the boys.  Good luck this fall season!

Bjorn Johnsen ('91 TU Gold) starring in Europe

Bjorn Johnsen (91B TU Gold), who played for Triangle United's '91B Gold team that won 3 State Championships, 3 Regional Championships, has now found himself starring in the Bulgarian top flight with the club Litex Lovech. 

3 TU Teams Claim NPL South Atlantic Titles

Congratulations to the u13 ('01), u14 ('00), and u16 ('98) Boys for capturing the NPL South Atlantic league titles.  They are now able to attend NPL National Finals in Indianapolis, IN in July.  Congratulations to all TU teams, but especially the 3 for claiming the league titles.

Triangle United Seniors Announce Plans for College

u14 Gold Player, Sheldon China, Trains at Liverpool

Rob Lovejoy, TU Alumni, Drafted in 2nd Round of MLS Draft

Robbie Lovejoy, 91 Triangle United Gold, has become the first Triangle United player to be drafted by Major League Soccer (MLS).  Robbie was drafted in the 2nd round (36th player overall) by the Houston Dynamo.  Robbie played collegiately at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Jeffrey Depaz Donis Highlighted as one of Top Players at id2

Jeffrey Depaz Donis (01 TU Jrs), was invited to participate in the US Club Soccer's id2 camp, which is a National Identification and Development Program.  The id2 program provides an opportunity for the country’s elite youth soccer players to be identified and developed, and scouted for inclusion in U.S. Soccer’s National Team programs.

Jeffrey Depaz Donis was touted by Top Drawer Soccer as one of the top players at the id2 Camp.   Here is what they said:

YDA JRS (5-7 year olds) Program
A Year Round Technical Program for Boys and Girls

Program Objective: To provide an environment for players 5-7 years old (born between 8/1/2007  and 7/31/2010)  that have demonstrated the ability and desire to develop at a higher rate than a recreational player.  The Youth Development Academy Juniors program will focus on the development of individual technical skills in a team environment.  The atmosphere that is created will also foster player growth in areas of balance, coordination, teamwork and sportsmanship. 

91 Triangle United Gold Boys and Their Legacy
1 National Finalist, 3 Regional Championships, 3 State Cups

During the 2006-2009 seasons, the 91 Triangle United Gold Boys team has helped put Triangle United on the map by their outstanding play on the field and their love for the game.  Having Elmar Bolowich (UNC-Chapel Hill Men’s Soccer Head Coach) as their club coach, not only did the club have a vital role model to learn from, so did the boys.
